What steps are requisite to become a medical doctor?
I'm a junior in high school and i would love to know a detailed plan on what it take and what i need to do to become a medical doctor and or specialist doctor (ex. radiologist or cardiologist)

When you get to your undergraduate years, most embark upon biology as their major. Some schools have a "Pre-Med" track. At UNC, the arts school where I am, there is only biology and you tailor your curriculum to best fit your craft goals. For example, I want to earn a PhD but don't want to rule I the possibility of earning an MD as well, so I will thieve advanced cell biology in the fall semester (the more science oriented course) and human anatomy and physiology (the more "clinical" base course) in the spring semester.
If you are hard wired for an MD, your undergrad classes will most like consist of the following (from freshman year to senior year):
1st Year - Intro Biology;
2nd Year - Genetics and Molecular Biology along beside Cell and Developmental Biology in spring or vice versa;
3rd Year - your choice! (Human Physiology/Anatomy, Endocrinology, Immunology, etc.);
4th Year - your choice again! (400-500 level courses most likely base on more clinical aspects).
Now, understand that doing research in your undergraduate years is looked upon very significantly. If you receive work-study (a form of financial aid) then you should be able to find a lab at your university easier that you can call home (not to read out that you can't if you don't have work-study). Here, you will gain valuable research experience that will help you within your first couple of years in medical school (scientific inquiry, techniques, etc.) It would also relief to work in a translational science lab. In other words, a lab that maintains patients and does science as well (i.e., I work contained by a lab that focuses on ANCA vasculitis. We maintain patients in the hospital across the courtyard and research their cells via quantifiable methods to find out more about this disease = translational science/medicine.)
Also, many medical students will go to graduate conservatory to earn a masters degree in order to gain more experience surrounded by science before attending medical school. But, this experience can be obtained contained by your undergrad years as well. Who knows, you may even be an author of a paper by the time you finish your undergrad!
What comes subsequent is all a matter of what you want. Will you want to become a radiologist/cardiologist comes in medical arts school, typically in the final two years when you are actually placed into a hospital to observe and strictness for patients under residents and physicians. You will declare a speciality and then fire up to do rotations.
All of these steps take time. You are only a junior (I assume rising senior) and at this point, your undergraduate career will start to become of pressure to you. Always, think out of the box, strive for excellence, make sure that you enjoy what you are doing is what will seize you to become a doctor.
