How long exactly does it take to become a physician (pediatrician)? Some say 11 years but others say 8...which is true? Which is false?

well its depends. 8 years is like the doctorate degree and later you would go get a medical diaploma so it depends
It depends when you start counting. 4 years for undergrad, 4 years for med school, consequently 2-6 years for residency, depending on the specialty...sorry i don't know exactly.
4 years of college
4 years of medical conservatory
3 years of pediatric residency.
Fellowships are optional, and usually take another three years or more. Source(s): Retired pediatrician.
