Info more or less nephrology?

1) how many years of schooling is needed?
2)would you have to perform surgery or transport the patient to a surgeon
Answers:
Nephrology is a medical subspecialty and involves finishing 3 years of residency after med school and then 2 years of fellowship training after that. Remember that you must complete 4 years of college and 4 more of med college before begining these 5 extra years.

So:
4
4
3
+2
∑=13 years.

Surgery is performed by urologists, not nephrologists. Source(s): AMA- FRIEDA Online
