Hugh Laurie is an actor. He memorizes and reads lines. The show is so ridiculous that I can't monitor it. If you know anything about medicine, you'd know how farfetched it is.
I know lots of physicians, and many of them are extremely smart. Some have that genius, sort of "out there" smarts, but most are just intelligent individuals.
Almost none are as obnoxious as Hugh Laurie's character, and inappropriate behavior is less tolerated in a minute than it was in the past.

My husband is addicted to the show, and I would have to agree beside him, he is really smart. I don't think there's someone as smart like him, but if there is, he should hold his own show too and share some knowledge. LOL.
