Need opinion here physical in a hurry?
My friend finally went to the doctor today for the panic attacks he's been have out in public (he has a fear of throwing up surrounded by public), he was Buspar & Beta blockers but they didn't help much so the doctor gave him Zoloft and phenegren(for the nausea that comes near his anxiety & the possible nausea side effect). He said the Zoloft will help relax the nerves before a panic attack & the phenegren will curve the nausea. The doc said his subsequent step is probably to a psychologist.
Do you think Zoloft, etc will work?

The "root cause" is probably biochemical. Therefore, psychotherapy will NOT address this problem (though it may help him cope with the issues it creates within his life). The doctor should be working with him to determine the underlying biochemical imbalances that are causing this condition. Sadly, most doctors are NOT trained within diagnosing the CAUSE of symptoms. They just label those symptoms and write a drug prescription - hoping the drug will mask the symptoms.
It might be astute for your friend to find a doctor trained in environmental medicine, nutrition and/or toxicology. This type of knowledge can be used to find the do of his condition.
