I be told by my Pharmacist not to drink grape liquid near my med Celexa (citalopram) - Is This Correct?
The pharmacist said that grape juice and blueberry juice act as an inhibitor to celexa and will motivation my meds to be less-effective. Has anyone else ever heard of this or experienced this?
Answers:
According to researches, grape liquid increase bioavailability of drugs in the body which can be toxic.
its the pharmacist's job to know the effects of the drug and its interactions with other drugs and foods. Trust him, he know what he is talking about. If you doubt it ask for the insert that the drug company provides with the medication.
your pharmacist knows what he/she is talking around. but i have to be honest with you, i take 20 mgs of celexa each day and i occasionally drink grape and blueberry juice. but if you are seriously depressed, you would not chance it and do what the pharmacist says. i hope that this help.
