Hey guys i wanna shadow a Doctor, but how?

I would like to shadow a physician in a hospital environment Like cardiologist, pediatrics, anesthesiologist, oncologist. My top choice is to shadow a pediatrician. My problem is that i do not know any pediatricians. So how do i approach a pediatrician? currently i am just probing for Pediatrician near my area. But what do i do next? Should i Call them up and bring up to date them that i interested in shadowing? should i give them a resume? or write a email? I don't want to seem fresh or awkward. So anyone who has shadowed a doctor randomly or any doctors who have tolerate college students shadow them, please let me know what i should say and how i should approach? Thanks!!

Call up the clinic and ask for the director of education, or speak to the doctor directly.
