Question nearly stem cell analysis?
If a doctor puts a glob of stem cells in someone (say they fill up a giant gaping gunshot wound beside them or something), are the signals required for correct differentiation already present? How do the doctors know they will differentiate to the proper thing - once the person's leg is developed, couldn't the signals be completely different (or almost non existent)?
Answers:
Stem cell therapies have not gone that far until presently. Most therapies are experimental or very expensive to be applied to the mass population. In my opinion, surrounded by the case you are mentioning I think stem cells should be first programmed to act in response to the local chemicals produced in the injured tissues and differentiate into specific tissues, if it was that easy to put purely any stem cell and let them do the job there would probably be no necessitate to research.
