Can doctors hold two specialties?

For example on the TV show House MD, House is has two specialties in: nephrology and infectious disease. Can this happen contained by real life?
Answers:
yes, but it requires either completing residencies surrounded by both or a dual residency. However, those are actually two sub-specialties, so House would have done a three year residency in internal tablets and then fellowships in infectious disease and another within nephrology. Yes you can but it's very hard work as you need to exceed professional exams in both. I know a doctor who specialises in Anaesthetics and is a surgeon.
Yes it can,
Actually the more you are capable to do,
The more money you can build,
And more people will want to hire you. Source(s): Going to Med School.
