Both have very different craft paths and training times. Derm is considered by many doctors to be a "cushy" specialty (dermatologists do not always enjoy to suffer through the painful hours of surgeons or ER doctors)...but it is certainly not an easy specialty to budge into! Depending on what type of derm you choose to be, you can expect to spend at least 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, and a 3 year residency before you open your career as a full-fledged derm. In college you will be required to prepare for the MCAT exams. For nurse anesthetist, you can apply to nursing school and will experience a shorter training period after completing your postgraduate nurture. You will work under the supervision of an anesthesiologist and can choose to go into a specialized field such as pediatric nurse anesthetist or critical exactness nurse anesthetist, etc. The salary differs and the job description differs markedly. If you love english and history, you may consider pursuing those if they are your passion. I instinctively would choose dermatology over nurse anesthetist, I am preparing for medical school right now so I feel that my judgment is biased.
