Do ER doctors always/generally wear scrub?
Specifically, in the Cleveland Clinic (if possible). I know that at the Cleveland Clinic, many research doctors only wear professional clothes, whereas medical doctors come and go.
Answers:
I interviewed at the Cleveland Clinic for residency, and all the residents wore scrubs, but the attendings generally made a nod towards dressing up. If it be a late night or overnight shift, everyone has scrub on.
I wear scrubs unless I'm out because I haven't done laundry in forever. Then I dress up. Source(s): ER Resident
In the UK, it is up to you.
Sometimes I wear scrubs, other times I wear a shirt and tie, however not an expensive shirt and tie, since working surrounded by the ER usually means its going to get trashed and I'll end up contained by scrubs for the rest of my shift anyway.
