Can you pocket drug beside dairy products?

My grandmother always told me not to take any medicine next to milk because it doesn't allow it to digest or something properly? I've always followed this rule just in suitcase it WAS true.. but I was wondering if this was just an "dated wives tale" or if there is actually scientific evidence that shows this :)

Thanks!

Depends on the medicine. Some specifically vote to take them with diary products. Some, you can't.
I have to say i have never hear that theory before, wether an old wives story or not!! I have a feeling it may well be an dated wives tale as otherwise i think doctors would state it when they prescribe medicine, and I steal medicine regurlarly for several different conditions. Who knows though I may be wrong!!
I've never hear of that.. I think its just a myth.. You can take your medicine with dairy products.. The only case where on earth it could be a problem is if you have severe lactose intolerance.. Lactose is the milk sugar present in milk and dairy products.. Lactose is a disaccharide composed of the monosaccharides glucose and galactose joined by a glycosidic linkage.. You want an enzyme called lactase to be able to digest lactose into its component monosaccharides and to absorb them.. People beside lactose intolerance are deficient in the lactase enzyme.. So the lactose they consume goes undigested through the small intestine into the roomy intestine.. The lactose is digested by bacteria that live in the large intestine.. These microbes produce hydrogen gas which causes bloating.. Lactose intolerance can also cause diarrhea and general digestive system upset.. which system that any medicines you take will not be absorbed closely..
Try yogurt or cottage cheese take the pills first than eat some of the products it should help.
