What's the difference between hyaline arteriolosclerosis and hyperplastic arteriolosclerosis?
As title thanks. They both sound to me related to increased pressure...
Answers:
Arteriolosclerosis: thicken of the small arteries and arterioles. There are two types: hyaline and hyperplastic. Hyaline arteriolosclerosis occurs in the elderly but is worse in those near hypertension and diabetes mellitus. Hyaline thickening occurs in the vessel walls next to narrowing of the lumen.
Hyperplastic arteriolosclerosis is commonly associated with malignant Hypertension. With ongoing injury, the vascular walls hypertrophy due to hyperplasia of smooth muscle cells and sometimes this occurs along near necrosis of the vessel wall. There is a characterisitic “onion-skin” appearance of the vessel wall.
Hope this helps :)
