Medical staff took blood from used syringe ?!!?
I went to a reputed clinic (india's best) for blood test . I did not see the medical staff taking new nozzle . He had it ready ?! I noticed it purely after he used the needle on me. He then destroyed the needle. And showed me the relinquish case of needle . I agree i made a blunder by not keeping eye on it. What are chances of getting me any infection. The place is not crowded , so even he put a used syringe , it must hold been used at least before 10 mins .
i own written to the lab and its HO......but its just a doubt ....
what blood test i can do to assure i am safe.

see the 2nd and 3rd pictures- the wan thing holds the needle and the tube for blood. after blood is drawn, the needle can be recap, twisted, removed and disposed of- only the yellow holder remains, and reusing this portion is standard practice. this part is not considered "contaminated" because it did not come into contact beside blood

having clean needles ready to dance in this type of place is not unusual. your concern is definitely understandable, but i really don't presume you have anything to worry about.
if you be to get tested, it would be for blood born pathogens such as hep, Hiv, etc... Source(s): retired icu nurse
