Do you hold to become a doctor beforehand you become a radiologist?
senior year is coming up and im trying to get a grip on what i want to do with my life haha this is what im knowledge about becoming a radiologist:
- pre med 4 years
- med school 6 years
- radiology school 2-3 years?
is this correct?

Yeah, I think basically you need to achieve a degree in medicine, afterwards radiology as well. I don't have a very thorough reading, so don't trust me on that.

take the MCAT contained by spring of Junior year.
Medical School 4 Years
take part 1 of medical boards after 2nd year
take piece 2 of medical boards at end of 3rd year
apply for residency program and go on interviews during 4th year
Graduate with an MD scope
Radiology residency 4 years
1st year is done as an internal medicine or surgery intern
take part 3 of medical boards after internship
Now you enjoy a medical license
2nd thru 4th years are as a radiology resident.
Take Radiology Boards 6 months to 1 year after residency
Other Specialty Residencies:
Family Practice - 3 years
Pediatrics - 3 years
Internal Medicine - 3 years
OB/GYN - 4 years
General Surgery - 5 to 7 years
Orthopedics - 5 years
Neurosurgery - 6 to 7 years
ENT - 5 years
Urology - 5 to 6 years
Post Residency Fellowships:
Cardiology 2-4 years after internal medicine
Gastroenterology 2-3 years after internal medicine
Plastic Surgery 2 years after General Surgery or ENT
Cardiothoracic Surgery 2-3 years after General Surgery
Pediatric Surgery 2-3 years after General Surgery
Then there are also more specialized training after these if you want to dance further.
Having your mind set on a specialty until that time even making it into medical school is about as cute as a 10 year old aphorism that they want to be a doctor when they want to grow up. Keep your mind open.
