What section or region of her vertebrae be he emotion as he run his fingers along her spine?

Dr. Davis is palpating Jane's vertebral column to determine whether she is beginning to exhibit scoliosis.
Answers:
Julie is correct, but palpating the vertebral spinous processes is not a very polite way to examine the patient for scoliosis.
I believe the answer you are looking for is the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, which are the locations involved in the curvature in scoliosis. Source(s): RN
With scoliosis you are concerned with 2 areas of the spine- the lateral & compensatory curve in the contrary direction. The spine has 5 areas- the upper neck(cervical), thoracic (chest area), lumbar (waist), sacral (below lumbar - most people have pay for pain in lumbar-sacral region), and ilium (tailbone). Most curves are to the right in the upper vertebrae & left in lower back. The experiment is done usually (besides feeling the spine) by seeing which area is lower when standing and also having the child bend over to see which shoulder drops lower.I mentioned child because usually this is a disease found within children although it can occur after injury or with aging.Incidentally 60 - 80 % of cases occur within females. Good for Dr. Davis to check for it. Source(s): NJ RN
