What would be a worthy approach to a research broadsheet over artificial limb?

I have to do a research paper over artificial limbs and I'm not sure how I should do this. What should I bargain about? Just one (like a leg) or all of them? I was also thinking almost bringing the olympics into it. I know that some olympic athletes have artificial legs and still are successful.

Any ideas?
Please and Thanks

You could do a daily on the history of prosthetics - artificial limbs have been around for thousands of years. Looking at the history might mete out you to get more interested in a certain giving of prosthesis or something as specialized as the para-olympics. The history can lead you to some interesting drawings and photographs of wooden hands and arms, metal hands, and complicated mechanism created to give the handicapped a better way to interact with the world. If you don't know much going on for prosthetics, you should start there. It is a large field near a rich history and it will give you a better perspective of the entire field than if you just focus on a specific type of prosthesis. Source(s): www.oandp.com

prosthetics is a huge topic.
If you're interested in paralympics I don`t know you could focus on sporting limbs. To make it easier you could focus on one particular sport. And you could break it down further from nearby. Maybe something like new developments in running foot.

The next thing is to get your research. Lots of News papers covered running surrounded by the Paralympics last summer so there is one source. The two big companies for prosthetics are Ossur and Otto Bock . Check out their websites they have seriously of information and video.

call your local prosthetic or orthotic centre ( should be in the phone book) and see if you can interview a prosthetist. Better on the other hand visit one of these centres and ask o put up a poster so you can interview a local amputee who uses a device your interested.

You should also try contacting one of the many amputee organization out there. The big one in the US is The Amputee Coalition of America there are others close to The War Amps The limbless association etc. They can offer a lot of information on what is out there for amputees.
