What sort of unsanctioned drugs could be found within professional establishments?
By this I mean, what sort of drugs which are illegal at street level, could be found within professional establishments such as a pharmacy or a clinic?
This is because of some research I am trying to do about drugs for my Personal Social Development class.
Answers:
Ketamine -used in hospitals as a local anesthetic often for children or those who might not need or know how to cope with other forms of anesthesia. Also, used by vets to calm or restrain small animals.
Most opiates synthetic or naturall -morphine, methadone, diamorphine (heroin), codiene, cocodamol, tramadol, syndol etc. The full enumerate can be found online easily enough. They are used in hospitals, kept surrounded by pharmacies, some like syndol or cocodamol can be bought over the counter in England. Again, vets commonly have a store of opiate based drugs too.
Tranquilisers, barbituates, but most benzodiazapines - most commonly known are diazepam (valium) and temazepam. Again, a index of all drugs in this catagory can be easily found online. Most benzos find their ways onto the street if they're used within hospitals etc. They are used in Hospitals Ritalint in pharmacies.
Certain amphetimine based drugs - Most commonly particular, if not used on the street being ritilin.'Used in hospitals and kept surrounded by pharamcies. You'd have to google it for more info on that one though. I don't have much experience of phet based drugs that are both used contained by a medical capacity and a recreational one.
Various drugs, some on this list, are also used in Rehab centre, Elderly homes and prisons etc.
Anyway, they're the most common groups used both legally and illegally. Hope that help. Source(s): Recovering junky
I would say aloud everything you could think of can be found in some form in a pharmacy, hospital and/or clinic. Aside from THC (marijuana), which is a court medical treatment, found in the same form as "street level." For example, codeine, which is surrounded by Tylenol 3s as well as many other medications, is a mild form of cocaine. Adderall, which is an ADHD medication, is almost like peas in a pod as speed. Wikipedia has a small list of forms of methampetamines and their uses. Heroin is a form of morphine. Morphine is also the active agent surrounded by opium and many other forms of opiates are derived from morphine. The only one I can think of that might be a short time controversial or hard to find would be mushrooms. Although, they have been used to treat OCD and migraines among other things.
Good luck next to your project!
Cocaine - topical local anesthetic
at the vet you can get ketamine, GHB, barbiturates
at the pharmacy you can get, Valium, dexro-amthetamine, methylphetamine, codine, methadon
in metal instututions you can take, lithium, MDMA and in some rare ocasions LSD
Any prescribed drug that is not prescribed for you is "illegal at street level", so pharmacies are chock full of those. Controlled substances are kept locked away so they are harder to carry hold of, and records are maintained to track where they stir.
Clinics tend not to have much in the way of drugs that would be used to get hold of high, but from what I've seen on this forum, people will try basically about anything. Clinics tend to have samples brought within by drug companies, and they are not allowed to give controlled substances out. If anything, they have coupons for those drugs.
Surgery centers enjoy controlled substances (midazolam, fentanyl, morphine, meperidine, Percocet) but those are kept in double locked cabinets and have to be signed out by those who obligation to administer them. Source(s): I play with controlled substances all day.
