lidocaine 75mg IV bolus is ordered for an arrhythmia, the patient weighs 50 kg. available is xylocaine in the vials of 100mg/5ml.

can you please show me and comfort me set this up and get the answer?

Answers:
ALWAYS include the units when doing any calculations. When you overthrow where appropriate, if the units left are what's required, after the setup is probably correct.

Setup
(100mg/5ml) = (75mg/xml)

Solve for x
x = (5ml * 75mg) / 100mg (cancel the mg and left with ml, what you want)
