Is anyone out nearby taking Sertraline and Clonazepam(Klonopin)?
I am 21 and I went to the Psychiatrist yesterday. I've never been to a psychiatrist before or anything similar to that. I went because I got a panic attack within the airplane on Thanksgiving last year. Since then I have not be able to get on an airplane (and yes before that I be able to get on airplanes), I can't go contained by the elevator anymore (I was able to before) and I cant sit in the stern seat of a car, I always enjoy to sit in the front). I was gonna start getting them in the coup¨¦ being in the front seat, but I be able to calm myself down.
Well I was newly prescribed these 2 drugs. I have a another Appt. on June 9. And well I plan not to take these medication because I've been watching a lot of youtube videos proverb they are hooked and they experience bad withdrawals.
Has anyone else had any discouraging experiences? Or did it help you? I just don't know what to do I am young and I don't want to be hooked on pills or anything resembling that, but I really want to be able to get back on the airplane again. I don't want to be claustrophobic anymore. When I am surrounded by the airplane I feel like I am trapped and I cant breathe. And I have no control over anything. Its ridiculous!
I know I've wrote so much. :(

Ok, first of adjectives I'm very sorry you are having these problems. But please remember your doctor has abundantly of training, specifically in psychiatric disorders and wouldn't prescribe anything to hurt you. People on Youtube don't have medical backgrounds, and basically because 1 person experienced something doesn't mean you or others will. If you have concerns nearly a medication prescribed to you, the best thing to do is call your doctor or pharmacist. They know what they're talking roughly speaking and will gladly address your question.
As for the medications you be prescribed: sertraline is not addictive. Period. If it was, it would be a scheduled drug. Sertraline does not have invective potential, it does not cause dependence, and has been studied for frequent years and shown to be very safe and effective. This is the medication you most feasible were prescribed to take every day to prevent a frenzy attack from happening. I personally took it and had markedly minimal side effects (which was a bit of a tingly feeling if I forgot to take the sertraline for 2 or more days straight).
The clonazepam is a benzodiazepine used to treat (in your case) a hysterics attack once it has started. It too has been around for a really long time and has been studied well. Clonazepam does hold some potential for abuse, but only if you take it too repeatedly, all the time, or more than you need. it may cause you to be a bit tired or groggy.
Again, if you're not sure about taking the medications, please call your physician or pharmacist. I would close to to see you have your questions answered and start feeling better. You can email me if you own more questions you think I can help beside. Source(s): PharmD candidate
