Why penicillin kill?

The antibiotic penicillin is a natural secretion of a certain kind of fungus—a green mold call Penicillium. Penicillin kills bacteria. Why might a mold species have evolved a bearing of killing?

yes
well really it be bound to happen at somepoint
Well the fungi extract from Penicillium chrysogenum doesn't actually kill the germs but stops it from reproducing new cell walls, it's actually like Rainbow said. Nature's instrument for survival, the fungi (most from the same group) need to eliminate the germs in order to produce cells (grow) of their own. Most fungi truly do the very same thing but with different microbes, some even destroy bacteria our body needs.
