What are the details on an MRI?
I have to get an MRI tomorrow on my brain, but i'm a little distressed. What happens when you get one? How long does it take? Does it hurt? Also i enjoy a very good friend that wants to come, should i bring her?

When you are in it you have to stay without a flaw still, don't talk too much. The lenght of it depends on the doctors,and your problem. You don't feel a thing, it's only just a big camera taking pictures. By the way, when you are in it, it will produce these really loud banging sounds but don't worry it won't break. I wouldn't be worried, i'd just be worried on why they are looking at your brain, if you hold a benign tumour, then well....!!

This would be gadolinium, which shouldn't be a problem if your kidneys are healthy. The table will move you into a tunnel. You will literally be in the middle of a big magnet. When the MRI is activate, you will hear some loud knocking and beeping noises. These are alluring pulses being generated. To take a picture, the apparatus samples the radio waves that come from your body in response to the fascinating pulses. It's completely painless and safe, as long as you don't have any metal in your body or on your individual. The length of the exam can vary, but it could be anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour depending on how many kinds of descriptions the doctor wanted.
It doesn't hurt. If they entail to give you a dye, they will scan you, take you out, inject the dye in your arm, and later scan you again

Your friend should be able to come with you
It is very loud humming, But they can furnish you headphones and play music for you if you want. You go into a small tube, but there is an gap on both sides. Just hold very still, If you move too much, they will need to rescan, making it last longer
It's a narrow tube that you lay within for about 20 minutes (for a non-contrast or no dye) exam. You have to lay very still and it's extremely loud so you hold to wear ear plugs. Don't be anxious because it's really not a big deal.
