WHY is injectable vitamine C a prescription just?
I understand animals produce their own vit C. That's not my question. I want to know WHY injectable vit C is now prescription one and only when it used to be OTC. C is water soluble and not easily overdosed, whereas vit A and D is oil soluble and can be OD-ed, but I can still capture injectable A and D at my local feed store. Did somebody figure out how to make drugs out of it so the rule stepped in and made it Rx only?

Since surrounded by general, a member of the public is not aware of how to inject something safely, and near sterile technique, there is no place selling a health product that will cause a significant number of injuries.
Really, can you infer of -one- injectable drug that is sold without a prescription?
Maybe because they want an MD to show you how to properly inject yourself. It is a big risk to just own it readily available...what if someone puts an air bubble in their artery that stops the heart?
