Connection between plasma osmolarity and total body river ?
Answers:
plasma osmolarity needs to be maintained at abound 290 mOsm/L. When osmolarity goes up due to increased osmolarity resembling high sodium...your body compensates by increasing water reabsorption from kidneys by secreting ADH, which will increase TBW. Or you body can excrete the sodium, if TBW is glorious enough that it's causing high BP.
Math is not one of my strongest pursuits but if you can wrap your mind around this and falsify the equations:
TBW = ICF + ECF
ICF = 2/3 x TBW
ECF = 1/3 x TBW
ECF = ISF + Plasma volume
ISF = 3/4 x ECF
Plasma volume = 1/4 x ECF
Plasma volume = (mOsm of plasma) / Plasma osmolarity Source(s): med student
