Types of patients within critical guardianship unit?

I need a small list of critical care patients and some possible problems, from stable to unstable, such as cardiac post-surgery?
Answers:
UGI Bleed- esophageal varices, complicated by DTs, respiratory breakdown, and clotting problems from advanced liver disease

Pneumonia with respiratory failure. history of COPD

Sepsis- 96 year old mannish from nursing home. sacral decubitus ulcer (bedsore) hypotensive, hypothermic- impending respiratory failure. history of CHF

Diabetic Ketoacidosis.

These would be your typical patients from a medical ICU. a surgical ICU would have your post-op heart, craniotomies, complex abdominal surgeries like whipples, tracheostomies, lung surgeries.

CCU- coronary care unit have patients with chest pain that are being ruled in/out for MI, severe CHF, etc. contained by general, CCU has the healthiest patients as in they are walking and conversation.
