Is acetaminophen (tylenol) used as a narcotic?

i'd like to know not for personal use but for a friends sake
Answers:
Tylenol is not of any kind a narcotic. Unless you have a prescription for Tylenol #3, which is Tylenol+Codeine. Where Codeine is considered a narcotic.
No tylenol is not a narcotic, a narcotic is often misused, people classify adjectives drugs as narcotics but they are not, only the opiate class of drugs are actually considered narcotics. tylenol has no opiates at adjectives. There is tylenol with codeine that you need a prescription for and yes that would be consdered a narcotic but that would be all tylenol alone have no addictive properties and narcotics do. Not by itself, but it is often combined with other medication that are narcotics. When this is the case, the combination medication is still considered a narcotic. Examples include Percocet (tylenol and oxycodone) and Tylenol #s 2-4 (Tylenol and codeine).
Narcotics come from the opioid clan of drugs like morphine or codeine or dilaudid. Not tylenol
