Is nearby a cheaper revision of Lexapro?
So, I really should be asking my doctor about this, but drs are kind of hard to procure a hold of.
I'm very confused. I've been on Lexapro for a while and whenever I run out I get awful headache and feel like total **** until I get it again. However, I don't own insurance anymore and it's become way too expensive so my mom asked about a cheaper alternative and the dr changed my perscription. I recently call the pharmacy to see if they had my prescription (since my mom dealt with it, I wasn't positive what pharmacy it go to) and while I was on the phone with the woman, I asked if I would be getting the horrible lexapro withdrawal. She said that I shouldn't because this cheaper point is essentially the same thing. However, when I look online, it says that near is no generic version of lexapro because of their tight patents or something like that. So how can it be that my cheaper prescription will be alike thing? It would help a lot of I know what the knew one was... but any information, help, or reassurance would assistance a lot.

There is a drug call Citalopram that is very similar to Lexapro and it is pretty cheap. Also, she could have be saying that you are getting another SSRI which would get rid of you sickness. Hard to say in need knowing what drug you are getting.
It's almost the same, but it should be a touch weaker. This can be counteracted by taking a higher dose. In theory, it should be virtually equivalent at the higher dose. Canadian pharmacies can enjoy the Indian generic form of escitalopram much cheaper. The quality varies however.
Lexapro is a brand only drug, and will be for another year or so. You can try its sister drug Celexa (citalopram), though. Citalopram is a mixture of two drugs: one inactive and one involved. The active drug is actually lexapro. Citalopram is generic and is relatively inexpensive. Source(s): pharmacy student
The drugs(a)fda website lists the approved generics, just type in the generic first name to get the list. If you don't know the generic name, type within the brand name and the generic name will be listed.

There are other medications contained by the same class of medication which are comparable to lexapro. it sucks that you don't have any insurance anymore! Try something like celexa, paxil, wellbutrin, or prozac. adjectives of these have generics and are on teh $4.00 generic lists at many cuff drug stores. Good luck!
