Biology key reconsider pre med?
So I am in my third semester as a declared biology major. I picked this because I am extremely interested in elucidation the world around us and figured either bio or chem would be my best match. I am considering medical institution as well so you could consider me a premed.
With the semester coming to a close I am slowly loosing confidence and thinking that I am not cut out for this. Although I have 5 A's on my transcript (Precalc, Eng comp 2, Gen Chem, lab, Recitation)I have done horrible within my genetics class. Out of 2 tests so far I received a C, and a B-. Tomorrow is the final, it is worth 40% of my grade if I fall short it I fail the class. I am hoping for a C.
With this said I am looking to others for their opinion regarding this issue. I am sure tons people have faced this beforehand and would like to pick their brain. I am under the impression those applying to medical institution have to have outstanding transcripts and never fail a class, even C's are desperate. Any thought would help.
Answers:
You can still get into medical school. Bad grades won't facilitate. You might not get into Harvard but if you do really well on your MCAT, med schools will still consider you for an interview. Then you gotta ace the interview. Good luck to you!
