NSAID (Tylenol/Advil/Aspirin) Withdrawal?
Do nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, and Acetylsalicylic acid produce acute withdrawal symptoms e.g. headache, body ache, nausea? If so, what is the best method of combating them?
Answers:
You merely bear the pain. If you were using these medicine for acute pain then once your primary problem is sorted the pain should be in motion away, but if you were using these for chronic pain then I'm sorry to voice that those pains will stay forever.
I don't know who those people are (above), or maybe they're just not really reading your grill, as at least one of them is supposedly a professional, but I have never heard of straight aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Advil (ibuprofen) cause withdrawal symptoms like those you are describing. Some aspirin products contain caffeine, which you can become addicted to (Anacin, for one), and that could cause some of those symptoms, a moment ago as withdrawal from coffee or soda can. It only lasts a few days and the best channel to combat them would be mild exercise, good hydration and plenty of sleep.
To get a professional opinion, you should really ask your doctor, not strangers who may, or may not, know anything. Source(s): merely a lowly EMT
That is not true.. the pain will NOT stay forever and you do not have to bear the strain. you do have to use them wisely and taper them gradually if you took them for a long while. Source(s): I am a medical professional
