Does Paxil work for you?

My doctor prescribed me with Paxil about 4 close to five months ago. I've been taking it every hours of darkness as she told me to and I still feel as I did before I started taking this medication. I'm on 20mg. people are describing me I need to talk to my doctor about raise the dose, I've talked to my doctor but she thinks I'm to young to stir up a dose ( I'm 16 turning 17 ).
Some people even say that it could just be a placebo.

I be just wondering do you ever feel a "change" when on this?
And if there is how can I bring back my doctor to at least raise the dosage a bit?
Answers:
paxil make me angry, i am on celexa right now but i want to change it because it is not working out for me. hope this help!
I started emotion better in a month or so. It just may not be the right medicine for you. You do involve to talk to your doctor and be honest with her. If she doesn't want to up your dose, she should consider changing your meds adjectives together. You should be feeling some difference by now. It has be more than long enough.
It's probably just not the right med for you. Some meds work extremely economically for some, while it does nothing for others, or even makes their condition worse.

Although, the placebo theory may be correct as most doctors do not want to prescribe any type of anti-depressant, anti-anxiety drugs to adolescents. Some studies hold shown they increase the risk of suicide in that age group. Maybe your doctor and/or parents are giving you a placebo just to see if you will feel better, if you expect you are taking something to treat your condition.

Either way, whether it's the wrong med for you or just a placebo, it's obviously stopped. Talk to your doctor again. If you feel comfortable, it might be a good idea purely to up and ask her/him if it's a placebo. Tell them it has had no effect, so it made you wonder. Hopefully they will give you something else.

I'm thinking it's probably a short time ago the wrong med for you. Most docs start out Paxil with a prescription of 10 mgs, not 20. So if it's really not a placebo and you really are taking 20 mgs, you should have had some sort of result, well-mannered or bad. And definitely after 5 months of use.

There's many other meds out there---Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, of late to name a few. Finding the right one can take time. Work with your doctor.
it usually takes 2 to 3 months to feel a change.
no regulation after 5 months? yes, talk to the doc.

paxil is real, not a placebo.

but it didn't work for me at all, so my doc switched drugs - the second one worked much better. I enjoy friends who take paxil and do very well on it.
what are you taking it for? that stuff is just like Prozac, pay attention it can alter your mind. the dr. proscribed it for me and my mom whos a nurse turned me to kava kava and women vitamins to help with cramps and moods. marijuana is also proscribed for PMDS.
