What happen within an MRI scan at birmingham childrens hospital?

Hi,
Please only answer this with what happens at Birmingham Children's hospital please. As no other hospitals are adjectives to me.

1) During an MRI Scan can you wear your own clothes? (Obviously wihout metal though.)
2) About how long will a scan on your back take?
3) How long does it take for the results to come?

Thanks!
Answers:
I don't know almost Birminham Children's Hospital, specifically, but I've worked in other children's hospitals and perhaps I can offer some proposal.

1) Depending on what part of the body is being scanned, you may be allowed to give your own clothes on, say, for an MRI of the head, but we'd have you wear a gown if we be scanning your lower back, for instance.

2) The back have difference parts, e.g. cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral spine and each one adds to the amount of time it takes to do the oral exam. Most exams are targted to a region, let's say the lumbar and sacral spine. Sometimes, however, your physician will want a full spine which may take as much as 45 minutes or so to do.

3) After a scan, the results are generally made available to the order physician in 48 to 72 hours.

I wish you well and hope this be somewhat helpful.
