Arthroscopic surgery contained by knees?

im gettin arthroscopic surgery 2mro....removing the messed up cartilage in knee....prior to surgery , will they give me an IV, i ******* abominate IVS!
Answers:
It is almost certain that they will give you an IV. This will allow them to have instant access if in attendance is any kind of problem that requires emergency medication. For instance, if your blood pressure were to unexectedly drop dangerously low for any basis, your veins could collapse and make it very difficult to establish an IV at that time. With an IV already surrounded by place they can quickly inject medication into the vein through the IV and get your blood pressure put a bet on up to a safe level. I don't like IV's any, but believe me, you're safer if you have one.
It depends a lot on which sort of anaesthesia they decide to afford you.
