Any nurses who loathe the theory of working surrounded by surgery or contained by the ER?
I just graduated from college and have arranged to apply for an accelerated BSN program. I love the idea of working as a travel nurse and I plan to pursue this after gaining at smallest one year of experience after becoming an RN. I must admit, however, that I can't stand the thought of working in an emergency room or surgical setting. Are there any nurses out within with similar feelings?

When you shift into travel nursing they will send you to assignments that you already have experience in. They wouldn't distribute you to work in OB if you have only worked contained by MedSurg. That being said, you will need to get at tiniest a year of experience working before you can do travel assignments; some specialties and institutions that hire agency nurses will require you to have two years experience so just maintain that in mind. They want someone who is proficient enough in their skills to newly be oriented for a few weeks and be able to float on their own. You also will be able to relate your agent exactly what kind of job field you are looking for. I will put out nearby that right now with the economic situation the business for travel nurses is not as great as it used to be.
