What would be a typical time for a junior doctor?
I know that medicine is so varied that no two days are the same. But I'm looking to apply to medical arts school and I really have to be sure this is what I want to do. An answer doesn't have to go into fine detail, a moment ago maybe 'ward rounds' etc

Tuesday is usually a typical day.
From what I hear (I mean I am not doing medicine yet I am with the sole purpose in year 11) my mum being a nurse tells me very well for a start its hectic it's busy and you don't have much real responsability because at that time you are still learning really.
So yeah surrounded by your first years as a house officer its hectic lots of tedius stuff to be honest with you and really wierd hours, admitadely its not really that fun to begin with as its greatly of hard work for not the best pay in the world, but It does rate off once you become a registrar
That would depend a lot in what country you study. In the US, the first two years are didactic years, sitting surrounded by lectures, going to labs, taking tests. Each semester is about equivalent to carrying about 24 college hours worth of courses. The concluding two years are clincial years, where you trail along the resident and staff docs, doing little, but hopefully learning a lot. There are lots unsurprisingly tests, as well as national level test, some of which cost a bunch even for the chance to try and pass them.
After medical school, you will enjoy further training, varying from three to seven years before you can get out and practice. BTW, no one uses the residence "junior doctor", you are either a med student or resident, sometimes the residents are referred to by their level, for example a PGY1 would be first year resident (post graduate year), sometimes, by tradition, first year residents are referred to as interns, to the lay public, not used much surrounded by the industry. Family practice is three years, surgery is between 5 and 7 years, depending on what you choose to specialize in.
