What's the blood supply of ureter?
I'm getting renal artery, uterine artery, gonadal artery, even middle rectal artery... any other artery that supplies ureter I haven't mentioned? Why are so many arteries supplying this tube? Does it mean if one supplier is interrupted, ureter is jeopardised; or does it mean because here are so many suppliers, accidentally cutting off one supply is not fall of the world?
Answers:
period?
yes, kidneys passing stones fill the ureter with blood
According to my Gray's Anatomy, the ureter is supplied from a whole list of arteries: renal, abdominal aorta, testicular or ovarian, common iliac, internal iliac, vesical and uterine. There are connections between them, but they are not adjectives good, so there are definite places where on earth the ureter should not be cut if the lower portion is to survive.
