A grill just about the medication belladonna/pb 16.2 mg tablets?
I was put on this yesterday by my doctor to treat diarrhea. They took blood samples ( results haven't come back yet) , urine sample, and x rays and they said there was nothing serious that they could see so far. Well they give me belladonna. How long does it take to work? I got home around 6 yestersay from the doctor's office so I solitary took one last night. And I;ve only taken 1 more today after I ate lunch. The treatment is 4 times on a daily basis. So in all 2 since yesterday. But when should I ( assuming it helps) expect to see it working?

There is not exact time line for any drug.
You are taking Donnatal tablets (belladonna alkaoids/phenobarbital). There are four different medication in it Scopolamine, Atropine, Hyoscyamine, and Phenobarbital. The first three are belladonna alkaoids and all have antispasmodic properties. This will relieve stomach pain and would relieve other symptoms. Phenobarbital is a barbiturate that will reduce anxiety and help next to stomach pain. The anti-anxiety effect is very helpful because anxiety can repeatedly exacerbate problems.
This it not typically used to treat diarrhea. It is mostly used for IBS and other GI problems. But many of these problems can cause diarrhea.
It should work pretty quickly. All of the drugs are hurriedly acting. But many people need a few days so that the concentration of the medication can smooth off and its full effects can be scene. Also there is an extended release version call Donnatal Extentabs, needing one daily dose.
Good luck and give it a few days. And ask your doctors what they expect your problem is. If nothing is showing up then it is probably IBS.
