How is in that more oxycontin within an 80mg tablet vs. a 10mg tablet, but they are similar contained by size.?
If you crushed 8 10mg tablets of oxycontin, you would end up with a whole pile of powder. But if you crush 1 80mg tablet of oxycontin, you don't pause up with that much. Is there a filler in the 10mg tablets, I thought they be supposed to be pure oxycodone. I am very confused? does anyone know?
Answers:
It's the ratio of inactive to stirring ingredients. The 10 mg tab is probably mostly cellulose, the 80 mg is more actual drug.
I wouldn't crush oxycontin anyways... There is a layer of protection around the outer section that has CHEMICALS. that is what makes it so doomed to failure to snort. The 10MG 20mg 80mg are all EXTENDED RELEASE.
I got off oxys a while subsidise, but I would take the 5mg, and those were PURE. or the PURE 15mg those are OXYCODONE not OXYCONTIN. Source(s): ex-addict
concentration is different
Actually u should ask a pharmacist they are a little more knowledgeable about these things, why would you want to crush oxycontin to be exact a sustained release drug in most cases and SHOULD NOT be crushed ??
I would not recommend you to crush up pills, especially pills that are designed for extended release. An OxyContin pill is designed to be slowly released over a period of few hours, if you crushed it up, all the 80mg will flush into you system at once, not over a few hours, This can potentially damage you or even kill you.
To answer your question, the 10mg and 80mg pills have duplicate size and weight because most of the pill's mass is composed of inactive ingredients (ammonio methacrylate copolymer, hypromellose, lactose, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol 400, povidone, sodium hydroxide, sorbic acid, stearyl alcohol, talc, titanium dioxide, and triacetin). The prime variation is just the amount of oxycodone.
