You get them right away, go to the store, if they enjoy your prescription, they have a bunch of boxes in back near all the different eye sights... Source(s): been wearing them for 3 years
About 8 days maximum.

The first day you singular wear them for 2 hours.
The second day you wear them for 4 hours.
Every day after that, add two hours to the previous hours of daylight, until you reach 14-16 hours.
And of course, never wear them to sleep, so the ceiling is 16 hours anyway...

If you ever have long amounts of time where on earth you don't wear them at all, start at the two hours again and work your way up... Source(s): Contact lens wearer 10 years

it took me around a week to get used to them. at first its a PITA to get them in (pain surrounded by the ***) but once u are able to do it quick which takes approaching a couple days to a week, its nothing. and wearing them for long periods of time is effortless. a short time ago bring wetting drops just in valise they dry up on u or whatev Source(s): i got contacts a year ago
It should solely take a couple hours on the day of your appointment. So hopefully you get a rapid appointment. Usually they'll have them in stock in the backbone, but if not, you can ask them for a trial pair while you wait for your contacts. (Then you can of late use the trial pair while you're gone.) Source(s): I've been wearing contacts for 6 1/2 years.
You can capture in office trials from your doctor to try it for free and you get them than and in attendance but if that is not the case than you have to dawdle for at least 2 days.
well it took in the region of a week for me to get my contacts soo if ur leavin like 2 days after u order them later u screwed unless u use the trial pair for like a month Source(s): experiance
The processing usually takes 3-5 business days or smaller number if they happen to have some in stock. So if you're contained by a rush, then you might have to consider getting them some other time...
It really depends on what your eye doctor keeps surrounded by stock. Where I got my first pair they had a cabinet full of them and so once they get the prescription down he was able to just snatch a pair, throw 'em in, and I walked out. All surrounded by all about an hour. The place I go presently does not keep nearly as many in stock, and so when I obligation more I let them know and it takes about a week for them arrive. Your best bet would be to phone call the office and ask. Explain the situation and get their advice, 'cause they'll know best.
Hours.
Well, a fitting takes only partly an hour to an hour. If you are buying a typical size/shape and a common brand (like Acuvue Oasis or whatever), they should have them in store, already package. Assuming you aren't leaving for a few hours yet, you'll have time!
