Help! I took the wrong medication!?
I took my expired lexapro instead of my paxil! I took 40 mg of lexapro by accident! What are the dangers of taking the wrong medicine AND have it be expired??

well, firstly, I know people who took more than that just to get lofty and they didn't die of it that I ever knew, at least not while I knew them, and some did it every daylight. secondly, since I was on a lot of prescribed anti-depressant and anti-anxiety meds at one point, I can tell you next to pretty good confidence that it being expired prolly means it won't work anymore, and that the chemical is no longer adjectives to treat the specified condition. however, this does not mean you shouldn't get some sort of help (call poison control or a form professional), or even visit the ER anyways, ESPECIALLY if you start to experience weird and unexplained feelings, similar to dizziness, headaches, or nausea.
POISON CONTROL call them idk their number Source(s): the magnet on my refridgerater
Quit screw around on the Internet and call a pharmacist or a doctor. Right now.
This is not an appropriate place to seek emergency medical warning. You have no way of knowing how credible any of the responses are, because you have no road of checking the qualifications of anyone here.
How long expired? And how much Paroxetine are you currently taking?
Well, even without the aforementioned knowledge, I can assure you you are probably fine.
depends what type of medicine you took wrong
i have a sneaking suspicion that you'll feel differenece physically if you dont go to a doctor soon
think they might flush it out somehow
I doubt that you have a problem at all. Meds are usually biddable a year past the due date. So don't worry about that. I would give the name your pharmacist and find out if there is a problem having taken only one of the Lexapro. Personally I wouldn't do anything except hold your paxil today if you haven't already taken it. I would THROW OUT ANY MEDICATION THAT YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY TAKING. Throw them down the toilet and gain them out of the way. That makes it impossible to do this again. You were lucky my friend.
Call the poison control center or your doctor or 911 ASAP.
call a doctor and stop wasting time on the internet. effing duh!
You will die resembling heath ledger :(
You should start drinking heavily, to counter the affects of the lexapro, STAT! Source(s): My Cousin is a doctor!
