Questions more or less tetracycline?
So, my dermatologist recently gave me a prescription for tetracycline.
The prescription is a 30-day supply, with three refill. She's not really expecting me to be on this for 120 days, is she?
Also, since starting the prescription, my stomach is quite upset. I haven't had the (expected) diarrhea or yeast infection. Instead, it has be a painful, almost gassy feeling. Is this normal?
Yes, I know...name the doctor. She's next on my list, but it'll take forever to hear fund from her. Thanks for your input.

you should be fine if you get through before taking it. But if your fingernails begin to hurt tell the doctor. I be takign Dioxycycline, which is a generic for of tetracycline and i had a rare allergic reaction that made my fingernails dribble off. So now i am allergic to anything ending contained by "cycline"

its for acne right? then you will enjoy to be on it forever. it is killing the bacteria that is cause your acne when you stop it comes back. yes the gassy is normal. eat beforehand you take it. the 2 week will not be enough. you will be on it forever. ask her for topical clyndomycin (sp?) and reten-a those are topical one morning one at night. or do accutane. i did and loved it.
Yeah I have tried Tetracycline before and it was similar to take 2 every day for 120days I didn't even pass a full 30days. But I own never had a problem when i took them. But if your stomach is upset you should eat something with it similar to bread or crackers etc. If you are already taking food with it then stop.
It says on the label not to eat food with the Tetracycline but if you said you have stomach problems next just eat some food like I said. Make certain not to take vitamin A or accutane supplements. Usually you take tetracycline on an deserted stomach with a large glass of river, and avoid intense UV light..
