Question something like the drug demerol/pethidine..?

I don't know the rules relating to this drug in California, but here in England it could only be prescribed or administered by a doctor. So how would someone simply bring back hold of it on demand?

Is it neglectful of a doctor to give it to someone simply because they asked for it?

It's also strictly controlled surrounded by the US. If rumors are even vaguely close to true, then it wouldn't be surprising for MJ's physician to have hired an attorney at lowest in part because of a risk of losing his narcotic licensure, and perhaps even his license to practice drug. On the other hand, there is no drug that can't be had by the comfortable or the determined. Certainly even heroin addiction is far from unknown in the UK!
I'm not in California but all the states must follow the Federal laws governing narcotics. Demerol is strictly controlled but as contained by many celebrity situations there are doctors ready to bend the law to be near the limelight.Demerol is rarely used for spasm & is given in tablet form by prescription only if other narcotics either don't work or a lenient is allergic to codeine, oxycodone, and morphine (doctors better document this too for the Feds will yank their license if they find no records being kept...this applies within all narcotic prescriptions).Demerol is commonly used in hospitals for surgical patients & properly used short term solely. It's not good for chronic use. In Hospice we almost never use Demerol for Morphine works much better for chronic pain as does Fentanyl. I've worked as a nurse for over 40 years and anytime someone asked for Demerol...they never got it and be looked on with suspicion for we knew they were addict.I can truthfully say I've only seen prescriptions for Demerol for anyone outside the hospital setting I don`t know 6 times, mostly in tablet form & only 12 pills (dentists mostly post extraction).Celebrity Demerol isn't proper medicine. Demerol (pethidine/meperidine) is a synthetic opiate analgesic and it is a agenda II drug in The United States, Schedule I in Canada, and Class A in The UK. In purely about any country Demerol would fall under the best levels of control. But it is prescribed for patients all of the time. It is very commonly given (in hospital) for migraine that does not respond to other drugs.

Some inhabitants doctor shop and get reasonable amount of narcotics from each doctor- but from 4 or 5 doctors and terminate up with a large amount of drugs. And there are totally shady doctors out there who prescribe drugs as if it were nothing, sometimes because they are incompetent other times to slake a paying customer. And personal doctors are a bit more likely to doll out whatever the patient "desires." In many cases where The DEA revokes a doctors DEA number (required to give controlled substances) the doctor be giving out drugs in extreme excess. I know of one case where one doctor wrote 90 prescriptions for OxyContin to one creature over 6 months or so.

Also if you have a good relationship with your doctor and you hold known each other for years and years then a doctor would probably be more amiable to prescribe any drug, but one and only to a point. Most doctors will not prescribe IV Demerol outside of a hospital/hospice. IV opiates are really only needed in emergency situations (morphine for heart attack) or for cancer, AIDS, and other conditions that can cause extreme throbbing.
