How copious years of arts school does it lift to become a medical examiner?

A medical examiner has gone through medical school (4 yrs undergrad, 4 yrs medical school) and through a pathology residency near a fellowship (5? yrs-not sure if that counts the fellowship or not). Not all states require medical examiners though-many use coroners and they can be just about anybody and required training will swing from state to state.
