Yes, the pharmaceutical company that I own stock in makes more money if you pilfer more pills. Always take more pills. Thanks! Source(s): Stockbroker.
You don't have to flood it. Just get the OTC 200mg ibuprofen and take 3 tablets. 400mg tablets are also prescription. As others have suggested 400mg tablets are not score and difficult to take a 1/2 of a tab.
its difficult to take 1.5 tablets of ibuprofen as they are coated and cannot be cut easily. the coating is there for a principle to ensure they do not dissolve too high up in the digestive tract and cause irritation also as a standard rule u should not cut tablets if they are not scored as the active ingredient is not evenly divided in the tablet so u may find more or less than half. The ibuprofen effects last longer in the system. Less surface nouns absorbed at a time.
The pills have a special coating so that they work in the intestine instead of the stomach. Cutting a pill within half releases the ingredient in the stomach which may cause irritation to your stomach pool liner. Source(s): My Doctor. I'm on 800mg. 3 times a day..
They will dissolve at different rates. the One 600mg will take longer to dissolve and be easier on your stomach.
