Government intervention within the Medical Field and Organiziation?
I've heard several times that more and more government intervention is happening contained by the medical field. My mom is an OBGYN herself and confirms this as well, she says I should stay away from the medical grazing land because of it. I guess I don't know exactly what that means though. What is this 'government intervention' that seems to be causing so tons problems with physicians and medical care? I've heard that physicians will adjectives be 'employees of the government soon enough. Is that good or bleak? What is so troubling about this issue? Any answers from physicians or workers in the medical field would be greatly appreciated! I hope this give somebody the third degree made sense as well. Thanks!

This is difficult to answer briefly. Your Mom is right.Clerks are refusing to allow diagnostic tests when they own little or no medical training. Paperwork is killing us. Used to be you went to the doctor, and there be the Receptionist, the Nurse, and the Doctor. Now, there are 5 people just to toy with the paperwork, phone calls, etc. Gov't. regs have imposed on doctors. If you enjoy dealing near Cretins who think a computer terminal is the voice of God, you will love modern medicine.
Folks have be educated to believe that they should not have to pay for Medcal services ( "it's a RIGHT") . They will swot that what they get will be worth every penney they paid. There IS NO FREE LUNCH- anywhere, anytime , in any pen.
A little anecdote to illustrate. I visited a British DM friend of mine in his office a few years pay for. Waiting room was jammed with people who have band-aid type problems you would take care of yourself. Anyway, the doctor asked me if I would like to turn bird hunting. Assuming he meant sometime later, I said yes. He then stood up, took past its sell-by date his coat, and told his nurse " Close the office, I'm going hunting" . That, my friend, is what is coming.
