Would it be possible if i specialize surrounded by surgery and become a professional ballerina?

i would like to do both and i was thinking, it'll take me give or take a few 10 years to specialize and stuff, so in the mean time, i could become a professional ballerina. i was told that they hold a short career, around 10 years, and i was thinking that's perfect! but i'm not sure if that's a smart conception because it might divert my attention. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you're serious something like either, you'll hardly have time to turn to the bathroom. Both at once is unrealistic.
You would really really be stretched on time. I'm no where practical a professional ballerina and I take lessons 3 nights a week and own high school homework and can be really stressed at times. (I'm sure the homework and papers and stuff for college/graduate school would be wayyy more time consuming.) I'm sure anything is possible but I really dont' reckon it would be likely. Professional ballerinas have to train close to every day of the week. If dance is what you love I would reccommend doing it as a minor at your college/school if you can and keeping your surgery thing as your major thing because to be exact what is going to make you money once you get out of prime dancer age which is around 18-26 (it can vary) and you could always capture hurt dancing and not be able to dance anymore. The surgery piece with the schooling will benefit you more in the long run. Source(s): Taken ballet for 10 years.
no you will not have enough time to do med conservatory and ballet...lets say you do college by the time you are 18 you graduate at 22 attend med institution for another 4 years (26), 5 year residency in surgery (31), specialize in a sect of surgery (kinda enjoy to do this now, they are moving away from just general surgerons) this is another 2-3 years (33-34)...so if you really wanna do the ballerina entry do that first and apply to med school later, but not to burst your bubble, but there are several many great dancers that don't make it. Also, if you are considering having a relations just an fyi the average surgeon works 60-70 hours per week, cardiac is average of 80-100 hours Source(s): I'm a med student
