Im thinking roughly speaking self a pharmacist?
how long does it take to become one? how hard is it? how much do you make? what are the usual hours? will near be job openings in a year + however long it take to get the degree?

my niece go to college to be a pharamist, she went for 6 yrs and she said it was so hard, the chemistry be unbelievable, she decided to go for something else. She said the years you own to put into it is just not worth it. She is an ultrasound tech now.
There's programs that are 0-6 and accelerate ones that are 0-5. Also, you can go and get your bachelor's and then step to Pharmacy school (an extra 3-4 years depending on the program.) It's definitely tough stuff but if you're determined and driven you'll do fine. Why don't you see if you can shadow a Pharmacist for a day.
I just graduate from Pharmacy school a month or so ago- so I can give you my take.
It took me 2 years of college at an undergrad arts school (I went to LSU) making perfect A's to have the GPA to apply. Pharmacy conservatory is expensive, more than regular college but less than Grad school. Most banks are prepared to help with the loans because they know that you'll be able to take-home pay it back. Pharmacy school itself is 4 more years (6 total) if you don't fail any classes, consequently it may be even 7 or 8 years total. The salary is usually between 80-120,000 per year, depending on the job you choose. Working for CVS or Walgreens has longer hours per hours of daylight, fewer days per week, but pays more than a job in a hospital. It's also plentifully more time on your feet to work public retail. Working a hospital is easier, less stress, better hours calmer environment, but pay envelope is usually less.
There will certainly be job opening for as long as you can imagine- pharmacy is changing a lot right now, for the better, and job are only getting more varied and more exciting, and better.
School was pretty sturdy. We started out the class with 100 people, and lost 10 or 12 to failures. They didn't backfire out entirely, but they did get left behind a year or two. School be hard- lots of math and science, but i enjoyed it immensely and know I'll enjoy my career.
