What's wrong beside my sternum after embark on heart surgery?
About one and a half yrs. ago, I had to have break open heart surgery to replace my mitral heart valve with a mechanical tap. About three nights ago, I rose up to go to the bathroom and I felt (and heard) something 'pop' surrounded by my chest around my sternum. Every since then, my chest, around my sternum, has been really sore. I purely wonder if one of those wires that the surgeon used to anchor my ribs back to my sternum could have broken loose or even completely off? Anyone own any ideas, I could surely use one. Thanks!

i would go see a doctor about this -- now!
my bf also had sympathetic heart surgery and experiences odd popping too. his doctor said it's fine, common and to be expected from time to time. if you have spasm, i would see your doctor to discuss it.
Go to the ER and get it check out ASAP .I would not wait have some thing may have broke after the surgery gone bad.Like may be some entity came loss.
The anchor by the ribs may have snap.
