What does "tamper resistance" suggest contained by drugs/medicines?

What does "tamper resistance" mean in drugs/medicines? I've been wondering for ages, no guess what it vehicle for drugs to be tamper resistant? Thanks.

paapaa is right, I actually remember that word story.
'Tamper resistant' usually means that it's "childproof', in other words it's supposed to be difficult to open by children via some devious orifice mechanism. The problem is, children can usually find out how to open it easier than you can...

It can also mean that the sunhat is sealed so that you know it hasn't been opened and tamper with before you buy it.
It means it's harder to uncap the cap so that children don't pop it open and accidentally take medication. Usually involved pressing and twisting instead of of late popping off the top.
When you get them over-the-counter Tylenol or Aleve Or even if you buy a over-the-counter medication such as vitamins they have a tight covering over them so when we be in motion to purchase them , If that tight covering is broke we know that there is a possibility
that someone might have tampered near that so we know to be careful not to purchase that but bring it to the attention of the store employee
It has nothing to do with the actual drug. The bottle is tamper resistant.
that it is resitant to tampering.
tamper resistance means that you can't tamper (mess with) the ingredients that trade name up the drug itself. like tylenol is tamper resistace because it is in the form of 'caplets' not actual pills which can be tampered beside. Source(s): personal knowledge
about 20 years ago some guy put poison in Tylenol bottles on store shelves and people died. since next all drug bottles have been hermetic.
