ACL Surgery and lateral meniscectomy surrounded by knees.?

Hello! 15 days ago i had the ACL reconstruction for my right knee. I also tore my meniscus (this happen frequently with a torn ACL), so i decided to have surgery. My doctor said that the ACL be the most important thing, and he would just fix the opening of the meniscus. I got a copy of the operative report to give to my physical therapist and it say that i had a partial lateral meniscectomy...i googled this term and was panicky! All these terms about arthritis in the impulsive years after rehab popped up!! so whats the deal with this meniscus thing?? i thought the ACL be suppose to be the big deal, not the meniscus!!

I am surprised because doctors usually do both of the two things at the same operation. But cheer up! if you survived the ACL you can handle the microscopy of the lateral meniscectomy.
