Is Diprivan the Chemical Equivalent of Physically Knocking Someone Out?
Answers:
No. Being knocked out doesn't effect the other systems of your body as much as a drug like diprivan.
No. It doesn't knock someone out. It, like most anesthesia pretty much paralyzes the central troubled system, thus putting the person into a coma like sleep. When the anesthesia is stopped, the person wake up.
What exactly do you mean? Are you asking if it will work as quickly as being knock out?
Well it is very hard to compare the two events.
Propofol (Diprivan) is used to very hastily induce sedation with our without full anesthesia. It is very powerful and works massively quickly, only one or two drugs such as Midazolam and Sodium Thiopental (aka Sodium Pentothal) that work as quickly (but Midazolam is a bit slower). And unlike Pentathol surrounded by particular the risk of overdose is much less.
I just thought of an antiquated 'ER' episode where a doctors gives Propofol to a young 20 something because he accidentally hear over a speaker phone that his girlfriend had died (and it was phrased very insensitively). So the doctor (in a importantly improper way) gave Propofol and the kid was 'knocked out' particularly quickly and lost his immediate memories right before the drug be taken (very normal).
As for it being the equivalent of being physically knocked out I would right to be heard that is very hard to articulate. But it could be. Once the drug is injected it will PUT you to sleep not ease a person to sleep. The only type of drug I hold herd relating a the chemical equivalent to a physical thing are antipsychotics, especially Haldol and Thorzaine. They are often still call "chemical straight jackets." When you get knock out, you don't need to be put on oxygen like with diprivan.
